Privacy policy

Favola ("we", "our", "us") is a product of Digideal LLC, a Delaware limited liability company at 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958-9776. Favola makes personalized, illustrated bilingual storybooks where a child is the hero. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights — with special care for the children our stories are made for.

Made for children, sold to grown-ups. Favola accounts are for adults (18+) — a parent, grandparent, or gift-buyer. A child never signs up or is asked for anything directly. The only details about a child are the few a grown-up types in to personalize a story (a first name or nickname, an age range, a couple of interests), used only to write and illustrate that book. We never ask for or store a child’s photo, and we never use a child’s information to advertise or profile.

Information we collect. Account details (name, email); the story details you provide to personalize a book; your books, orders, and — for a shipped hardcover or gift — the recipient’s name, delivery address, and any dedication. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We also keep standard server logs.

How we use your data. To create your books, show your library, process and ship orders, send transactional email (receipts, shipping updates), and answer you when you write in. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not sell any data about a child — ever.

Sub-processors. Each processes data on our behalf, only for the purpose listed, and none may use your data — or any child’s details — to train their own models: Anthropic (story text), OpenAI (illustrations, from your text only — no photos), Stripe (payments), Lulu (prints and ships hardcovers; receives the book files, recipient name, and shipping address for that order only), Cloudflare (DNS, CDN, and R2 storage), SendGrid (transactional email), PostHog (analytics, with all form inputs masked).

Cookies. We use only strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Children’s privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K). Favola is a general-audience service for adults; a child cannot create an account or interact with us directly. When you personalize a book you provide limited details about a child as their parent or guardian, or with that parent’s authorization, and consent to our using those details solely to create the book. A parent may review, correct, or delete a child’s details anytime by emailing privacy@favo.la.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA). You may access, receive a copy of, correct, or delete your data (and a child’s details), object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email privacy@favo.la; we respond within thirty days.

Retention. Account and library data is kept while your account is active. Server logs are kept for ninety days.
